JAVARA works across agricultural value chains from production to distribution in order to preserve Indonesia’s biodiversity and bring community-based, organic products to broader markets. Inspired by indigenous farmers and food artisans striving to preserve Indonesia’s food biodiversity, JAVARA sells over 600 artisanal products and works with 50,000 small holder farmers across Indonesia.

The company intervenes along the supply chains to strengthen supplier’s production capacity, improve workplace safety and markets products nationally and internationally, securing premium prices for the farmers and processors.

CAPTAIN OF THE JOURNEY

HELIANTI started her journey in discovering Indonesia’s rich heritage of indigenous food biodiversity in 2006 when she was introduced to a network of local food warriors / farmers.

She decided to leave her work as lawyer & international development consultant to embark into a new journey.  Established in 2008, through collaborations with local champions and various stakeholders that share the same vision, JAVARA builds farmers’ capacity in creating premium artisan food products derived from local biodiversity and delivering them to the global market.

Her passion in cooking, traveling compliments the business development role that she undertake within the company where she focuses on product-community-market development.
